Summer is Here, Scrap Metal Snowbirds are Not

So you might be thinking, yeah, summer is here..so what? It just makes my scrapping job that much harder..or hotter. Summer is here, scrap metal snowbirds are not. Now if you are new to Tucson or maybe Las Vegas or Florida..you may not know the term snowbird. By definition it is someone who travels to warmer climates in the winter months, to return home in the late spring or early summer. We have them, and that is that. Now why might that be of interest to you right now? It is migration season, and they are leaving..and leaving some things behind you can scrap.

Summer is Here, Scrap Metal Snowbirds are Not

You probably never realized this, but people who move for six months at a time, tend to wan to get things cleaned out or cleaned up before they leave. This includes replacing or just removing old parts and machinery and /or electronics from the home. People do not want to travel over a thousand miles home and a thousand miles back just to have to start working on their washer and dryer just before Thanksgiving. It might be wise to first ad some new routes to your scraping search in the lat spring. Include areas where many retirees may live. It may also be beneficial to advertise a bit i the area, and ask for referrals from anyone you may get a pickup from. This way you are keeping your search area tight as to not waste fuel in the searching process. Lastly, always let the homeowners know when and who will be picking up the scrap, many travelers are on tight schedules and can not afford to wait, when they need something picked up, be ready to go. Once you have a new route, contact Desert Metals @ 520-741-0608 for directions to our facility.
